Strikes targeting civilian and energy infrastructure in four cities were reported by the Saudi-led military coalition, which warned of retaliation.

At least 73 civilians, including women and children, were injured in attacks by the Yemeni Ansarallah movement, also known as the Houthis, in southwestern Saudi Arabia.

The Iran-aligned movement targeted “civilian and energy infrastructure” in the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jizan and Najran, according to a spokesperson for the Saudi-led military coalition, which intervened in the war in Yemen in 2015.

The spokesperson, Major General Turki al-Malki, made the statement in an announcement published in English and Arabic via the X platform.

Al-Malki said that “all measures” were being taken and that “all necessary actions” would follow to “retaliate against the sources of the threat and neutralise the danger they represent”.

The announcement warned that Saudi retaliation would follow.
