The cause of a fire that broke out yesterday morning at a house in Latsia remains unknown, the Fire Service said. It also noted that the possibility of the fire having been caused by electrical supply points had been ruled out.
The Fire Service received the call at 09:58 concerning a fire at an upper-floor house in a residential complex in Latsia.
Two fire engines and a telescopic aerial platform vehicle from the Acropolis Fire Station responded to the incident. The fire was brought under control at 10:24.
The occupant was away when the fire broke out and no one was in danger.
The fire started in the kitchen, causing extensive damage to the area. The rest of the house was also affected by smoke and heat.
From 06:00 on Monday until 06:00 today, the Fire Service responded to a total of 24 calls for assistance: six fires, 14 special services and four false calls.
