Jakarta international airport resumes operations after ash-related closure

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and four other airports in Indonesia have resumed operations as the effects of the Anak Krakatau volcanic eruption subside.

Several airports in Indonesia resumed operations in the early hours of Tuesday, local time, after remaining closed for two days because of volcanic ash.

Among them is Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, the country’s largest airport, the Ministry of Transportation announced.

In an Instagram post, the Ministry said that Soekarno-Hatta and four other Indonesian airports had resumed operations as the effects of the eruption of Anak Krakatau volcano subside.
